DescriptionThis Norfolk marking sampler stitched in blue thread on linen displays 3 alphabets, two number series, ligature, crowns, heart, diamond, an inscription and a two line verse separated by 8 dividing bands surrounded by a sawtooth band. Watton was the name and location of a known school not far from Mary Elizabeth's home. Stitches are in blue thread.
