BiographyPossibly the Elizabeth Antrim who was married to George Ludy on 4 September 1848 in Warren, Ohio, the marriage ceremony performed by Daniel Antrim, minister of the United Brethren in Christ. (Ohio, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1774-1993) The United Brethren in Christ is a reformed denomination that grew out of the Mennonite and other German Protestant denominations and heavily influenced by the Methodism of the Wesleys and George Whitfield. The church spread from Lancaster, PA to Ohio, Virginia, and throughout the Shenandoah Valley. Daniel Antrim was probably Elizabeth's old brother, born 1808 in Warren, Ohio. He was listed in the 1850 census as a farmer and United Brethren clergyman. George Ludy was a farmer of Lutheran background, born in Frederick, Maryland in 1818, the son of Nicklaus Lude. The couple had two children, George and Sarah.
