Hannah Jacobs Robinson

Hannah Jacobs Robinson was born November 1, 1807 in Lancaster County, PA, the daughter of Hannah Jacobs and William Robinson. She had one sister, Anna Elizabeth, born 1810 and her mother died, evidently in childbirth. After her father's second marriage she had several half-siblings. Hannah married Peter Streeper and had at one daughter. In 1870 she was living in Upper Providence, Montgomery County PA. She died in March 1890 in Frederick, Montgomery County. [Ancestry tree at ancestry.com and familysearch entry for Hannah Jacobs Robinson. ] Hannah's sampler verse is from a hymn by John Needham, a mid-18th century, second generation Baptist minister and hymnist from Herfordshire and Bristol, England. Partially based on the stitched faux eglomisé mat Betty RIng believed that Hannah's teacher may have been Elizabeth Robinson in Montgomery County.
