ProvenanceLinda Ford Wallace CollectionDescriptionA shaped shield inscription medallion flanked by two stanzas of a solemn verse form a horizontal ribbon across the middle of Ann Rawsthorn's 1827 sampler. Above and below this band, stylized flowers, butterflies, birds, and trees are formally arrayed. A chevron red and blue floral band forms the border. Two small square pillows worked in queenstitch flank the rose bush in the lower register.
