ProvenanceLinda Ford Wallace CollectionDescriptionEight-year-old Robina Isabella Murray stitched her work with wool & cotton(?) threads on linen in the traditional red and green sampler colors of her ancestral homeland of Scotland, but clearly distinguished her identity as a Canadian through the address included in her inscription: Garden Street, Quebec. Three Alphabets and an inscription including name, date, and address are divided by 5 dividing bands and underscored two serpentine bands with flower motifs.
