ProvenanceLinda Ford Wallace CollectionDescriptionA circa 1700 New England band sampler with 2 alphabets including 2 ligatures, 4 dividing bands, The Lord's Prayer, and an Inscription identifying the stitcher. The selvedge edge is at the top and there is a double row of blue and brown hemstitching at the top and bottom of the sampler. In the bottom register, below a number sequence is a decorative band centered on a basket flanked by 2 pairs of birds on stems facing a flower, and two trees in baskets.
