DescriptionIn the upper half of Caroline Nixon's sampler are three alphabets and a number sequence separated by 3 dividing bands. The lower half displays a large colorful loose arrangement of mixed flowers in a low trapezoid vase or basket. An inscription, "Caroline Nixon/ Aged 13 Years" is arranged on either side of the flower container. The composition is surrounded by a strawberry border in cross and queen stitch. Other stitches include chain stitch and rice stitch. Thread colors are green, red, blue, orange, yellow, and white.
