DescriptionReading from the top, predominantly red, white, and green Addisson sampler consists of a band of crowns, followed by a red and green chevron dividing band, an arcaded alternating red and white floral band, and two alphabets and a number sequence in 3 rows separated by red and green dividing lines. A decorative band with a multi-floral arrangement in a baskets or cachepot with handles, a butterfly, a bee, and a dog chasing a deer past a tree, is stitched in cross stitch, satin stitch, rice stitch, and chain stitch in red, green, white, yellow, pink, and blue. Linked chain or lozenge dividing bands separate a strawberry band , a small berry band, and the inscription , which is worked in satin stitch followed by a cross stitch heart and diamond. The sampler is hemstitched on all four sides.
