ProvenanceLinda Ford Wallace CollectionDescriptionA yellow connected farmhouse and lawn is the centerpiece of a square composition of alphabets and dividing bands, a framed verse, and a decorative rectangular signature cartouche. A tulip, a red amaranth, a cluster of blue grapes and a flowering vine in a tub are arranged either side of the domestic landscape scene. A strawberry border of alternating red, green, and white berries surrounds the composition. The dividing bands and enclosures are notable for the creative use of queen stitch, rice stitch and herringbone/long-arm cross stitch.
