DescriptionThe pattern for this 1934 Second Colonial Revival style sampler was made by the Vogue Company and is a transfer printed cross stitch design depicting a farmhouse set between a willow and an evergreen tree in a rolling lawn with a fence. Below the scene is an inspirational aphorism popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The bottom register depicts a gazebo flanked by flowering shrubs.
