BibliographyBolton & Coe DescriptionTwo alphabets, embellished symmetrically with small animals, and a number sequence 1 -21, and Large alphabet, small alphabet: small number 1-19 and 4 checkerboard dividing bands form the upper register of the Mary Hallman sampler. A linked chain band forms an octagonal inscription panel that is surrounded by birds, stylized potted flowers and shrubs, animal motifs and a bird house. The sampler border is made of cross-hatched diamonds in blue and yellow with a pink center. Thread colors are pastel blue, pink, yellow and green. Inscription is in black thread
