DescriptionJane Pownall stitched an Adam and Eve scene with a striped serpent spiraling the apple tree. Baskets, flowering plants in urns, and shrubs and trees of varying scales and styles are ranged either side of the apple tree. Perched on top is a tri-color bird flanked by angels and 8 pointed stars. In the bottom register large urns with flowers and stylized flowering shrubs are placed below and to either side of the inscription and interspersed with baskets, birds, flowers, and a crown. The composition is surrounded by a geometric floral or acorn border. Colors are green, gold, white, tan, brown and light blue.
