DescriptionThe generally square sampler has two outer borders - a zigzag worked in green silk with a straight stitch and a narrow straight stitch within. Between stitched dividing lines Harriet has embroidered three alphabets and one number sequence, floral vases and baskets, an aphorism concerning "female worth," and identified her home as Randolph, Vermont. The bottom register, containing two urns with flowers, appears to be unfinished. Thread colors are green,black, brown, white, and pink.
