DescriptionDepiction of the Virgin Mary seated with the Christ child standing on her lap as she supports him and he bestows a benediction with his right hand. In his left hand, Christ holds a scroll reading "Damme benedetto sempre farai / se fara bene el mal lassarai" [Blessed by me you always will be if you do good works and cast aside evil]. Visible below are four figures, two on each side, looking up to Mary and Christ with their hands folded in front of them in prayer. Both Mary and Christ have golden halos around their head and sit on a throne with lavish red brocade behind them.
