The National Society of Colonial Dames of American, Massachusetts [Boston], 1921DescriptionElecte Phillips 1803, alphabets and verse. Sampler is bordered on three sides by a wide luxuriant flower border of pink roses and rosebuds emanating from a blue and white basket at the center top of the composition. An inner border frames two alphabets, a number sequence, a verse, and an inscription identifying the maker, her age, and her location. In the bottom register, confronting birds in brown and white are situated between three pine trees. Thread colors are pink, white, green, blue, black, and brown.
