Label TextTakafumi Asakura is a Shinto priest who works in the Nihonga (pictures of Japan) style of painting which uses mineral pigments and ink on silk or paper. Painted in sumi ink, swirling spirals contrast with angular lines, referencing the boundaries of heavenly and terrestrial realms and the energy that flows and collides between these opposing forces in the cosmology of the Shinto faith.
