DescriptionTruth, a book in hand and wearing a robe decorated with the sun, raises her gaze to the sky as the rays of the sun beam towards her. At her feet is a length of chain. Her left arm drapes over the shoulder of Mercy seated beside her, who holds an olive branch and casts her eyes downward towards the fruit at her feet. Both are dressed in a Neoclassical style and sit in a landscape with cloudy sky and trees behind them.
