Lydia Borton was born January 8th, 1795 in Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph and Esther Borton. The Bortons were members of the Evesham Monthly Meeting, a Pre-Separation/Orthodox sect of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting as described in the US Quaker Meeting Records at Ancestry Library at ancestry.com. Lydia's sampler was worked at the Evesham School at age 15 or 16. Three years later she married Thomas Brocks in Burlington, New Jersey.
