InscribedInscribed (verso, at top, in type): NAPLES Evacuation from areas of city where power is being turned on. Since the US Army has learned that frequently the Germans, leaving a city, will set time bombs which are connected with the electric power, extraordinary precautions are taken before throwing on the electricity again. All large buildings which are fairly free of bomb damage, and therefore usable for Army hqs., are examined thoroughly by experts for time bombs and booby traps. Throwing on the electricity is apt to send off other concealed bobs. When the power was turned on successively thru out the city at the end of October, each large hotel, office bldg. and residential section was systematically evacuated for a few hours according to plan.; (stamped): All Rights Reserved.
