InscribedInscribed (at bottom, in ink): (scale); (at bottom, in pencil): Roof of Chapel, King's College; (at top, in ink): The intersection of two compartments of this roof would form a waved line like the following, consequently the forms are a little distorted to bring the line A-B- into a straight line- which is visible upon an attentive observation of the roof, but cannot well be expressed in a drawing.; (at right, in ink and pencil): X. this is a stone placed in the Ashlar on every corresponding pannel in each compartment of the roof - I don't know for what purpose. I left open till every other part of the compartment was finished for the convenience of communication between the workmen above and below during the construction.
