Label TextIn 1981, Rebecca Busselle, Mark Goodman, and Sybil Miller all contributed their photographs to the "Millerton NY: A Photographic Survey" exhibition at the Vassar College Art Gallery, now the Loeb. Each of their photographs documented different aspects of life in this eastern Dutchess County village; Busselle focused on photographing people who were part of a family care program. In the 1980s, the Wassaic Developmental Center was adjacent to the village of Millerton and home to many of the New York State residents who were institutionalized for developmental disabilities. Busselle spent years forging connections with this community of people, forming lifelong friendships that extended long after she completed her photography project.
