European Prints: Felix M. Warburg Collection

A bedrock of the Loeb's collection is a group of European prints given to the Vassar College Art Gallery in 1941 by the family of the German-born financier and collector Felix M. Warburg. The bulk of the gift, which also included sculpture, comprises 170 prints by artists working in the 1500s and 1600s, such as Marcantonio Raimondi, Albrecht Dürer, Lucas van Leyden, and Rembrandt. As a group, the works can be used simultaneously to study intaglio printmaking in early modern Europe and collecting trends in the first half of the twentieth century.
