'For through the painter you must see his skill': Shakespeare in Art from the Permanent Collection

This exhibition commemorated the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare (1564-1616) by showcasing the rich history of Shakespeare at Vassar. This group of works shows how art, alongside literature and drama, helped to root Shakespeare in American education and at Vassar College in particular.
