Exhibition Info
Art, Science, & Technology at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center: OpticsMonday, May 18, 2015 - Sunday, July 19, 2015

To anticipate the opening of Vassar's new Science Center in Spring 2016, the Art Center presented a series of installations that celebrate the rich and complex relationship of art, science, and technology. Each segment of the series, comprised of approximately a dozen works from the permanent collection, focused on a related theme. The works displayed in this installation related to optical devices, such as the camera obscura and stereograph, as well as photographic processes that explore the nature of sight. Also on view were photographs produced through the manipulation of technical methods to serve artistic ends.
