Nancy Graves: A Memorial ExhibitionTuesday, May 17, 2011 - Sunday, August 28, 2011

This exhibition brought together seven works from the Art Center’s permanent collection by the artist Nancy Graves. The exhibition commemorated the artist’s career fifty years after her graduation from Vassar College in 1961. After earning a BA in English Literature and French from Vassar College, Graves went on to receive her MFA from Yale University. The varied scope of her work was represented in the exhibition, including sculpture, paintings, prints, and films. This group of works spanned two decades of her career and offered insight into Graves’ acute awareness for the ways in which diverse media can express aesthetic possibility within the form and function of natural phenomena.

There are works that appeared in this exhibition that were loans to the Loeb and therefore do not appear on this website.
