Wallace Putnam, American, 1899-1989
Wednesday, January 9, 1991 - Sunday, February 17, 1991
This exhibition featured a selection of oil paintings loaned by the Putnam estate, the majority dating to the 1940s and 1950s. Among the subjects were portraits, landscapes, sea bird paintings, and still lifes. The exhibition was intended to demonstrate Putnam's strength's as a stylistic innovator and to highlight his poetic vision. There are works that appeared in this exhibition that were loans to the Loeb and therefore do not appear on this website.
