Collections

From its founding gift by Matthew Vassar in 1864, the Loeb’s collection has grown to over 22,000 works of art spanning over 6,000 years and around the globe. Browse our eMuseum database by selected themes or search thousands of objects, with more information and photos added regularly. The active and dynamic use of the collection to support teaching and learning at Vassar and beyond is at the heart of our mission. Students and faculty from all disciplines are invited to make appointments to view works or use them in their teaching and research.
